About Wee Kirk
History
Wee Kirk Presbyterian Church is located in the small mountain community of Linville, NC. and is a member of the Western North Carolina Presbytery. Established in 1895, the Wee Kirk has been an important religious sanctuary for all those who come to this charming resort village in northwestern North Carolina on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Wee Kirk is a seasonal church holding services at 9:30am on Sundays between late May through early September. Please look to the “visiting ministers” tab to find the exact dates and see the outstanding ministers we enjoy each week.
Weekirk’s Mission
Wee Kirk Presbyterian Church has three important missions:
- Spread the word . . . the Gospel, the Good News! . . . to the resort communities in Linville NC and the surrounding Avery County area.
- Minister to our Guest Ministers and their families by providing friendship and a one-week summer retreat from their full-time ministerial profession, including the use of the Wee Kirk Presbyterian Church manse in Linville, NC.
- Minister to the underserved children and families in Avery County with support and resources for essential services and educational opportunities. We are grateful for the referrals from and opportunities to extend our ministry through our Outreach Partners: Avery County Schools, 4H WOW Summer Camp Program, scholarships for Holston Presbyterian Camp and Retreat, Feeding Avery Families, and Mayland Community College, scholarships for continuing education.
